IDE 401:Integrate technology in Instruction III

Syracuse University l Fall 2019 to present

Course Reflection

This is another course designed by our professor, Dr. Jing Lei. This series of technology integration courses are structured as three one-credit courses (IDE 201, IDE 301, and IDE 401), which will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences that PreK-12 teachers need in order to incorporate emerging informational and communication technologies into their teaching in the Digital/Information Age. Dr. Jing Lei has put much effort into the course design. This course is popular with students. I was thrilled to learn about and teach this course to develop strategies for improving teaching and student learning using digital tools that are easy to use and readily available in most school systems.

I work very hard to update the technology-infused lessons and other instructional resources to support student learning because, in this era, technology is developing very fast and being used in ways it might not have been five years ago. I listen to podcasts to learn about the new tools and create activities that best support my students' academic progress.

I have been helping my students build meaningful connections to the subject matter, pedagogical knowledge, and technological knowledge. In particular, This course is an advanced part of this series that helps preservice teachers:

  • integrate technology into their teaching practices in their field placements,

  • develop a comprehensive understanding, and

  • reflect on their understanding of technology integration into instruction in PreK-12 classrooms.

With my effort, students are able to do better and achieve more progress.
